Heating Services in New York City
Heating faults can begin in the equipment, thermostat, controls, airflow, piping, pumps or distribution system. The relevant checks depend on how the property produces and moves heat.
NYAC's heating work covers heat pumps, PTAC heating and the heating stages of central and mini-split HVAC systems. Building boilers and standalone furnaces are outside this scope.
Where HVAC heating problems appear
No heat at all
A thermostat call may fail to start the heat pump, PTAC heating section or central heating stage.
Lukewarm output
Heat pumps normally deliver warm rather than furnace-hot air, but output still has to meet the room load.
Heat in some rooms only
Dampers, indoor heads, duct distribution or controls may leave one area behind the rest.
Constant cycling
Control, airflow, sizing or safety-limit problems can prevent a full heating cycle.
Stuck in cooling mode
A heat pump depends on controls and a reversing valve to change operating mode.

Common questions
Do you repair the heating side of PTAC units?
Yes. PTAC heating, both gas and heat-pump, is part of our HVAC heating work. We check the thermostat call, controls and the heating section to find why the unit is not producing heat.
My heat pump blows cool air in winter. Is it broken?
Not necessarily. Heat pumps normally deliver warm rather than furnace-hot air, so the air can feel cool against your hand. If the room is not reaching setpoint, or the unit seems stuck in cooling mode, controls and the reversing valve are among the items to check.
Do you install new heating systems?
Equipment replacement is part of our HVAC heating scope, covering heat pumps, PTAC heating and mini-split heating. Contact us with your equipment type and space so we can confirm what suits the property.
Do you work on boilers or furnaces?
No. Building boilers and standalone furnaces are outside our scope. We work on heat pumps, PTAC heating and the heating stages of central and mini-split HVAC systems.
HVAC heating not keeping up?
Identify the equipment type, affected zones and whether the system starts, cycles or changes modes.
